About Me

I was born locally in Denton, Texas and moved to the Metroplex when I was a child. I attended school in Garland and after graduating went to work for White Swan Foods where I began to learn the institutional beverage business.

Through the course of many years and different companies I have worked my way up to Branch Manager. I met my wife Kathy while working for the company previous to where I am now. We were married and I then moved to Mansfield where we currently live. We have 4 children between the two of us. Jason, a senior consultant with Deloitte & Touche in Dallas and his wife Ronda. Gina an elementary school teacher with Crowley ISD. Kimberly a stay-at-home mom, her husband BJ & their children Hunter & Holly. Brandon, the youngest who is still trying to find himself.

What Masonry Means to Me

It's a tough question to answer. I knew nothing about the Masons whatsoever. I worked with Sysco Foods where I met Joe Bennett who told me he was a Mason. I began asking the typical questions. What do you guys do? What's the reason for becoming a Mason etc? Joe explained what it meant to him and it caused me to ask some others if they knew about Masonry.

I found out that many of the people who I highly respected and had worked with through the years were Masons. One of whom had been my boss at White Swan Foods some 25 years ago; John Lyell who is a Past Master of our lodge. I asked questions of John and he told me what he got out of it. I slowly began to realize that this MUST be a worthwhile organization and began visiting Trinity Valley. I was welcomed with open arms. I petitioned and joined the Lodge in June of 2003.

Since that time I have learned so much more about who the Masons are and what they do, not only for the members, but also for the community as a whole. There is a very warm feeling knowing we are helping children through the Scottish Rite Hospital as well as many other hospitals and organizations who are affiliates of the Masons. It also is great to know that no matter where I go in this country or around the world there are brothers who will treat me with the same regard as the members of my own Lodge will. And if I ever need help these brothers are there to help just as I am there for them.

I feel that Masonry has made me a better Man, Husband, Father and Grandfather and has also brought me closer to God. Although Masonry is NOT a religion, God is at the center of everything we do. We are encouraged by Masonry to worship God in whatever church we desire and in whatever religion we happen to be.
